In 2017, the first edition of the Shenzhen Design Week (SZDW) inaugurated the Shenzhen Global Design Award (SDA) with a total prize of US$1 million. After the global collection in nearly a year, a total of 1,014 works from 12 countries and regions have participated in the selection. Among all of the entries from China, Shenzhen contestants lead the way with 305 entries which impressed the jury with the city’s capacity for innovation and development in design.
