One of the biggest and most important universities in Lithuania – Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is hosting an International Conference “4D” aimed to discuss the role of Design in developing value for social entities, technological advancement, business creation and revamping.

4D conference invites an international community of scholars to formulate areas of interdisciplinary explorations and academic contribution about the role of Design in Development that are outlined by 6 topics around which the conference is organized:

topic 1: Design for Social Changes
topic 2: Designing in Sharing Economy Paradigm
topic 3: Designing in the 4th Industrial Revolution
topic 4: Orienteering Design through New Media Inputs and Data
topic 5: Designing in Saturated and Hypercompetitive Markets
topic 6: Design based Entrepreneurship

How to Submit your Paper
The language of the conference is English and all submissions must be in English.

Abstract Submission – Deadline April 21, 2017
Authors are invited to submit an abstract and keywords using the ‘SUBMIT’ link provided on the conference website. The link will lead you to the ConfTool Platform, please submit your proposal through it. If you are a new user of ConfTool, you will be required to create an account. The abstracts should be 400 words in length. They should summarize the paper, include the main statements on Design, but should not provide any identifying information about the author(s). The uploaded file should not exceed 20 Mb.

Full Paper Submission – Deadline June 16, 2017
After the notification of the Abstract acceptance, you will need to submit a full paper for the 4D research conference. Full papers should be submitted according to the MS Word template, which complies with the guidelines of the publisher of the proceedings. Details of the submission format are described in the body of the template. The length of the full paper should not exceed 4000 words (excluding references) and follow APA publication style for in-text citation and reference lists (www.apastyle.org). Use the ‘SUBMIT’ link provided on the conference website for the submission.

Final version of Full Paper Submission – Deadline July 31, 2017
After the notification of full paper acceptance and paper corrections (if any) the final version of the full paper should be submitted in both MS Word (.doc or .docx) and PDF format according to the conference template. Other formats are not accepted. Please keep the size of each file to less than 20 Mb and use a file name beginning with the principal author’s last name, followed by the name of the Topic (Ex.: Surname_ Design for Social Changes.doc). Use the ‘SUBMIT’ link provided on the conference website for the submission.
Copyright: By submitting papers for publication in the conference proceedings, authors are allowing for the publication of their work and assigning copyright of the submitted papers to the conference host. Authors’ traditional rights will not be infringed upon by assigning copyright in this manner, as authors retain the right to re-use the content of the papers.

Conference Registration
In order for a paper to be included in the conference programme and appear in the proceedings, at least one author must register for the conference by July 31, 2017.
