Open Call: Best practices of biobased or regenerative design sought!

Posted on: 21. May 2025

Building Based on Biobased (BOBB) is an international project in which 16 partners from five countries are working together on the future of bio-based building. The project explores how materials such as hemp, mycelium or flax can be applied in interior design, furniture design and architecture. BBOBB contributes to a circular economy and ecological recovery, and promotes new sustainable value chains in the construction sector.

Who and what are we looking for?

We invite designers, makers and (interior) architects to submit a project that:

  • uses bio-based materials (such as hemp, mycelium, bio-resin, flax, bamboo, …),
  • and/or has a regenerative approach (local, circular, nature-positive, socially sustainable, …),
  • and fits within furniture, interior or architectural design.

They can be finished products, objects, installations or prototypes ready to be exhibited.

Why participate?

Selected projects exhibit their work at the WONDER Creativity Festival, a free city festival in Kortrijk that attracts more than 20,000 visitors annually. The festival brings together a wide audience: from families and young people to professionals from the creative sector, education and entrepreneurs. We ask participants to take care of logistics. Scenography, communication and further framing will be taken care of by us!

Submission deadline: June 20, 2025!
