Following the success of its previous edition with more than 1700 young participating designers from 90 countries, BIAAF prepares for a key edition.
This edition of the international fashion contest will feature € 25,000 in prizes in two categories: clothing design and accessories design.
BIAAF – Bilbao International Art & Fashion – launches the seventh edition of its international fashion design competition. The event aims to discover new fashion talents from around the world between 18 and 35 years.
In recent years, the BIAAF contest has become an international reference with more than 1,700 participants from 90 countries in its latest edition and more than 100 media appearances.
In this edition the prize will consist of € 25,000 between the two categories: clothing design and accessories design, and designers can take part – if they wish – in both categories. The organization will announce in the coming weeks more details about this new edition and the members of the jury.

Contest Deadlines
- Registration open from October 1 to December 16, 2019.
- February 17, 2020: Last day of reception at our facilities for the first session of the jury.
- March 11, 2020: selection of finalists by the jury.
- May 22, 2020 (date to be confirmed): announcement of winners of the different categories by the international jury.
- June 2020: awards ceremony and opening of the international exhibition.

BIAAF is the leading European platform in emerging fashion design, after 13 years of activity, BIAAF is connected to some 700 schools and has reached some 5,000 designers around the world through its activities.

BIAAF collaborates continuously with universities and cultural entities of international prestige that contribute to the recruitment and training of talent from around the world, including: University of Navarra, Fashion Institute of Technology of New York, University of the Arts of London, Polimoda from Florence, Istituto Marangoni from Milan, Shenkar College from Tel Aviv, Kyoto Seika University, Bunka Gakuen University from Tokyo, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa, among others …
Currently, BIAAF has the support of the Bilbao City Council, Provincial Council of Bizkaia, BBK Foundation and Euskaltel, among other entities.
