The programme of Fluxus Yard
Artists + yard community = Fluxus Courtyard, space for creation and all the things unexpected.
he aim of the artists participating in Fluxus Courtyard programme is to gather the local courtyard communities for co-creation process by the 12th of September, 2020. The artist should address the challenge(s) named by the community, encourage active community contribution and participation in art processes and create the final project (object, installation, performance, etc.). The artist is responsible for the creative and organizational activities of the selected yard, the organization of meetings, development of the co-creation process and implementation of the final result.
The project’s artistic idea must follow one or more of Fluxus’s principles: combining different disciplines;
Coincidence; adventure; DIY (do it yourself) culture and aesthetics; simplicity; ever-changing movement; blurring the boundary between art and life; moving away from everyday life and routine.
How is it going to happen?
All artists that submitted their creative ideas for the yards (the form below) and clearly stated costs necessary for the implementation of the project will be evaluated by the committee that will consist of representatives of both the yard selected and Kaunas 2022. Each artist selected will have idea realization costs covered (artist’s salary + project costs = up to 6000 Eur).
Deadlines
- The call is open from 9th of March to 30th of March (inclusive)
- Artists selected to participate in the project will be announced on 10th of April
- Creators or artists launch in backyards on 27th of April
- The final creative projects will be presented on 12th of September during the Fluxus Festival
