The residency program is on invitation only and aimed exclusively at designers. In order to qualify, designers have to be below 40 years of age, need to have worked independently for at least three years and submit a portfolio. The portfolio must show a strong personal style, an interest in history and research, experience and confidence in the use of different mediums and materials, and an ability to work conceptually.
Schloss Hollenegg for Design and the Finnland-Institut, Berlin, invite emerging Finnish designers and designers based in Finland, to apply for a residency at Schloss Holleneg. During the residency, the designer will have the opportunity to understand the craft of silver making and produce a piece in collaboration with historical Viennese silversmith Jarosinski & Vaugoin. The residency will take place from Friday 19th to Tuesday 30th of September 2025, in Schloss Hollenegg and Vienna. Accommodation and travelling expenses are covered.
To apply you must be of Finnish nationality or be resident in Finland. Please submit your CV, portfolio and motivational statement. The Finnland-Institut, Berlin is a forum for Finnish culture, academia and business in German-speaking Europe. The Institute emphasises networking and counselling of actors from different disciplines and offers, in co-operation with its partners, a diverse programme providing insights into Finland’s culture and society.
