The Project
In 2017 Kortrijk was included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as City Of Design.
In order to highlight this recognition, Designregio Kortrijk gives room to creative people. The K-TOTEM was developed within the Kortrijk Creëert project and is the showcase for graphic talent from the region.
The 3.5m high sculpture at Kortrijk Weide is covered every three months by a graphic designer or illustrator.
Dries Desseyn designed the original and surprising three-dimensional form of the K-TOTEM.
Project Concept
The goal of the K-Totem is to promote local graphic talent and give graduates a kickstart.

Business Model
- Initial cost: cost of the design and production of the sculpture
