Dubai Design Week, launched in 2014, is the Middle East’s largest design event, held annually in November at Dubai Design District (d3). It celebrates and promotes design, creativity, and innovation across the region, offering a platform for both emerging and established designers. Dubai Design Week highlights contemporary design practices and trends supported by Dubai Culture and is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The festival also features Downtown Design, the leading contemporary design fair in the region, further solidifying Dubai’s position as a global design hub.
Mission
Dubai Design Week thrives on inclusive programming and engaging workshops that encourage public participation and design education. The 2023 edition showcased 40+ installations, 10 exhibitions, and 85+ workshops, attracting over 160,000 visitors, with 300+ design participants, 75+ speakers, and 80+ marketplace vendors, spotlighting emerging talent alongside established designers.
