celebrates and promotes local and regional artistic talent, fostering a vibrant creative community in Dubai.
Project
The Sikka Art and Design Festival, launched in 2011, celebrates and promotes local and regional artistic talent, fostering a vibrant creative community in Dubai. Organized by Dubai Culture, this annual 10-day festival showcases contemporary art, design, and performance, providing a platform for emerging artists and designers to exhibit their work. By transforming the historic Al Fahidi neighborhood into an interactive space, Sikka encourages public engagement and cultural exchange. The festival features exhibitions, installations, workshops, and live performances, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the creative process. Sikka also aims to enhance the appreciation of art and design within the community, making these disciplines accessible to a broader audience. As a flagship event of Dubai Art Season, it highlights the emirate’s growing creative and cultural landscape.
Mission
The Sikka Art and Design Festival succeeds by showcasing local talent through diverse exhibitions and interactive installations. With 160,000 visitors, 500 creatives, and 5,000 workshop participants in 2024, the festival fosters cultural exchange and collaboration, strengthening Dubai’s creative landscape and making art accessible to all.
