Uriarte Talavera Contemporánea 5 de Mayo

 

This book shows the work done in 2012 by Talavera Uriarte (Puebla, Mexico) to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of May 5th, inviting Mexican and foreign painters, sculptors, designers and photographers to interpret one of Mexico’s most emblematic historical events through the elaboration of 64 unique pieces and 11 murals in talavera. Pedro Friedeberg, Kiyoto Ota, Humberto Spíndola, Irma Palacios, Maribel Portela, Demián Flores, Alberto and Francisco Castro Leñero, Luis Argudín, María José de la Macorra, Fernanda Brunet, Marcos Castro, Patricia Soriano, Claudia Pérez Pavón, Alejandro Magallanes and Alex Dorfsman, were some of the artists invited to collaborate in this project in which the artisan-artist symbiosis resulted in the greatest creation of contemporary plastic work in talavera.
