WOOL | Covilhã Arte Urbana 2011-2021

Book presentation. Urban Design, Street Art

“WOOL | Covilhã Arte Urbana 2011-2021” celebrates 1 decade of art in public spaces. It is seen as a book about identity, memory, about the transformation of territories, their communities and imaginaries. About the transformation of people by people, places by people and people by places and inevitably, by art. It presents itself as a meeting place, where the history of this initiative intersects, with the history of Portuguese urban art, with the journey of countless artists today recognized worldwide who began with challenges launched by WOOL, with so many other personal stories, ours and so many people throughout this territory and throughout Portugal.

This document with more than 300 pages, features texts from curators, researchers, designers and artists, in a narrative organized over the years that opens up a reflection on WOOL as a unique meeting place and presents the artists with whom it collaborated, photographs and words that detail the mission of this initiative and importance in the territory(ies).
