Are ecosystems designed and organized or do we let life unfold? How do we balance catering to what is emerging and what is planned? What is the role of the users and how can they get involved?
The BBDW (Bilbao Bizkaia Design Week) is the reference event in Euskadi around the design world. It is promoted by the Bilbao City Council and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, in collaboration with EIDE – Basque Design Association.
BBDW is spending the biennium 2022-23 listening to and articulating the ECO-SYSTEM of design in Bilbao-Bizkaia. The 2022 edition focused on ECO, on paying attention to the resonance of stakeholders’ voices and practices BBDW23 is now focusing on the idea of SYSTEM and proposes an exercise in strategic design and ecosystemic articulation, a search for patterns, adaptive action, connections, tensions, and generative relationships.
