| CREATIVE WORKSHOP Chibikkobe” is a hands-on educational program that has been held since 2012 to foster children’s creativity. Children and creators in Kobe work together as a team on projects such as the Dream Shop Workshop, where they create the restaurant of their dreams while experiencing the work that architects, chefs, and designers do; and the Community Planning Workshop, where they can learn new knowledge and skills from professionals in various fields.
The “dream shops” are then showcased in the Town of Dreams – a “town” made by children, for children. In this town, children can enjoy the experience of working in the town, eating meals paid using the town’s custom currency, joining events, and a variety of other activities.
Chibikkobe is held to celebrate Kobe Design Day, which is named after the day that Kobe City was appointed a City of Design within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, October 16th, 2008.
