Organised in Saint-Étienne since 2003, based on a concept that originated in Montreal and drawing on the expertise of the Cité du Design, the Commerce Design competition rewards Saint-Étienne shopkeepers and tradespeople for the quality of the interior and exterior design of their establishment. Every 2 years, it highlights the talent of design professionals and encourages the enhancement of sales outlets. It promotes shops and designers who have pooled their skills to produce new and vibrant spaces in the city of design.
The 2019 edition has selected 10 shops on 16th September 2019 ; Saint-Etienne inhabitants are invited to vote for the public Award which will be revealed during the Award Cermeony at Cité du design at the end of November 2019.
