Shanghai joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2010 as a “design city”. In the new stage of development, Shanghai is comprehensively promoting design empowerment for high-quality economic development, high-quality life of citizens and high-performance governance to reach a sustainable city.
World Design Cities Conference 2023 will be held from September 26th to October 2nd, themed as DESIGN BEYOND CREATIVITY. It includes hundreds of activities as opening ceremonies, the UNESCO Creative Cities Summit, exhibitions, new design products, releases, fashion shows, seminars, and workshops across the whole city.
