Reimagining a museum – Designing new perspectives for cultural institutions in the 21st century. The international summer school invites multidisciplinary design participants to come together and collectively imagine possible and desirable futures for cultural institutions in the 21st century.
The challenge? To implement the way museums relate to the territory and the public, finding new ways to engage communities and institutions on sustainability issues. The initiative will allow participants to work on a challenging case study: the MAcA – Museum A for Environment, Europe’s first museum dedicated to environmental education, currently undergoing a major transformation.
The students will be called upon to design and implement new strategies to strengthen the link between the museum, the territory and its public with the main objective of identifying innovative ways to actively involve communities and institutions on crucial sustainability issues.
