The Hasso Plattner design school (d-school) Afrika at the University of Cape Town, in Cape Town South Africa, partnered with IE University to host one of the global venture days of the Tech4Democracy competition.
Tech4Democracy is a global initiative by IE University in partnership with the US Departmnet of State and Microsoft as its main strategic partner.The IE University culminated their 5th competition for democracy-affirming tech startups in five continents. More than 300 startups from 66 countries participated in their #Tech4Democracy Global Entrepreneurship Challenge.
In March, the d-school (in Cape Town) unveiled the best democracy-affirming technologies and startups from Africa.

The five global finalists will compete for the final prize at the Summit for Democracy that will take place in Washington, D.C. at the end of March 2023.
