Enveloppe elegantly opens into a rectangular shape that neatly fits A3 paper. If the bag is being closed (folded), it forms a teardrop shape that maintains the integrity of the documents inside—without forming creases of folds. Larger documents can be rolled up and carried between the fold. Each product is handmade in Montreal/ Canada by master leather craftsman.
The Atelier YUL was founded in 2015 when architect and founder Cece de la Montagne was looking for bags to carry architectural drawings and other prints of unusual sizes. Not knowing how to sew, she used paper, elastic, and a wooden dowel to create a prototype for Enveloppe.
