The round table surface is inspired by a human skull. It is actually a tray that can be removed from the substructure to be used on other furniture. The complex graphic design is made of 622 pentagons and 305 diamonds in color black and three shades of gray and does reflect the image of the skull. The tray rests on a simple cross base and can be used as a coffee table but can also be removed from the foothold. What makes the piece interesting is the fact that a complex graphic content was used to design a commonly used object of utility. The design object is hand made by skilled artisans using prime marquetry techniques and best materials.
